Dear church family, I would like to offer you a word of encouragement. The Bible says, "And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing ye shall receive..."
These are the words of Jesus, and His words are truth. You can ask anything and expect to see it come to pass, but we must ask in according to the Word! John 15:7 says, "If ye abide in me and my words abide in you, you shall ask what ye will and it shall be done unto you." If His word is not abiding in you than you have no confidence to expect to receive what you are asking. Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God, but once you find what you are asking for in the Word, you will then have the confidence to ask and expect to receive what you are asking for!
However, one of the reasons we sometimes fail to receive is because we put a time limit on God. After a period of time passes, and we have not received our answer to prayer, we give up and start doubting. We even say stupid things like, "Well I guess it didn't work." The Word never told us to put a time limit on what we're asking for! Hebrews 6:15 says, "And so after he (Abraham) had patiently endured, he obtained the promise." Abraham was nearly 100 years old when Isaac was born. He patiently endured, and these are the people who receive! It's not the people who start our strong in faith and then waiver halfway through, but the ones who believe God until they physically see what they were asking for come to matter how long!
Hebrews 6:12 says, "That you be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherited the promise." It is faith AND patience that gets the job done. Don't cast aside your confidence because time goes by. Stay with it until the end! The amplified version of Heb. 13:5 says, "...for God himself has said I will not in any way fail you nor give you up nor leave you without support. I will not, I will not, I will not in any degree leave you helpless nor forsake you, nor let you down. Assuredly not! WHAT HE HAS SAID AND PROMISED TO US HE IS ABLE TO PERFORM!
